The Fall is
a great season for stock car racing in Southern Ontario. Many tracks
host special shows for Labour Day or to wrap up the season in September
or October.
Brighton Speedway
has a Labour Day Weekend double-header. Saturday, September 3 features
regular racing plus the Southern Ontario Sprints. On Sunday there
is a 50 lap, $1000 to win Pro-Stock Invitational, a 30-lap Mini-Stock
$500 to win Invitational, Round 4 of the Canadian Modified Challenge
Series plus the Southern Ontario Sprints.
Brighton will also be the host to a 358 Modified event for the first
time in over 20 years. The ImageFactor.ca Applefest 358 Dirt
Modified Shootout will be run on Saturday, September 24 at 7:00pm.
All the regular Brighton Speedway classes were be on hand as well.
The event has been talked about since mid-2004. Many of the 358
drivers were looking for a late season race without going to the
United States. Brighton promoter Mark Rinaldi offered his track
and the planning began in February of this year. The 50-lap race
is a stand-alone event that will be run under DIRT rules and will

Brighton Speedway is a 1/3 mile clay oval located on County Road
64, just east of the town of Brighton.
Ohsweken
Speedway
is the site of the last race of the 2005 Ontario Dirt Late Model
Series season on September 9. The car count has risen in the ODLM
over the season and it should be a good wrap up.
Ohsweken will host the Sprint Car Nationals on September
16-17. The Nationals is a Southern Ontario Sprints event that will
also feature competitors from Sprints On Dirt, Empire Super Sprints
and the Patriot Sprint Group.

Ohsweken is a 1/3 mile dirt track located on Chiefswood Road, near
Ohsweken.
Brockville
Ontario Speedway
has three special events this fall. The Sportsman Super Dirt
Series comes to Brockville on September 9 along with a Modified
Run What Ya Brung race, Street Stocks and Rookies. The following
weekend, September 16, is the Turning Stone Casino 358 Modified
Series plus Sportsman, Street Stocks and Rookies. On October
22 Brockville hosts a Modified Run What Ya Brung race and the Patriot
Sprint Group.
Brockville is a 1/4 mile clay oval located on Highway 29, 6 miles
north of Brockville.
Cornwall
Speedway
will see the Turning Stone Casino 358 Modified Super DIRT Series
roll in on September 4 for the Jiffy Auto Service 100, a Syracuse
qualifing event. Also on the card will be Pro Stocks, Semi-Pros
and Rookie Stocks.
Cornwall Speedway is a 1/4 mile clay oval located on Brookdale Avenue,
near Exit 786 off Highway 401.
Kawartha
Speedway will hold the 2nd Annual Horses and Horsepower
weekend on September 16-18. On Friday night is the Summer Sizzler,
a Triple 50 lap event for Late Models, starting at 7:00 pm. The
CASCAR Power Water Series will hold a 100-lap season finale on Saturday
afternoon at 1:00 pm. The CASCAR Super Series also wraps up its
2005 season with the Dodge Dealers of Ontario Ram Tough 250 on Sunday.
The start time is 2:30 pm.
Kawartha
Speedway is a 3/8 mile paved oval located on Highway 28 near Fraserville.
Barrie
Speedway will hold a double-header weekend to finish off
the 2005 season. The 4th annual Barrie Speedway 500 Finale
takes place on September 24-25. Saturday night is regular racing
but the highlight of the night will be an appearance by one of the
greatest race car drivers ever, Mario Andretti. Mario will be signing
autographs from 5:15pm - 6pm. On Sunday there will be qualifers,
last chance races and features for Limited Late Models, Thunder
Cars, Pure Stocks, Vintage Modifieds and OSCAAR Super Late Models.
Racing begins at 7:00 pm on Saturday and 1:00 pm on Sunday.
Barrie Speedway is a 1/3 mile paved oval located on the 8th Line
of Oro-Medonte between Barrie and Orillia just off of Highway 11,
10 minutes north of Barrie
Flamboro
Speedway hosts the annual Lucas Oil Oktoberfest Classic
Weekend on Oct 1-2. Racing begins at 2:00 pm on Saturday with
qualifying plus features for Hurricane Midgets and F4's plus a Hobby
Clash. On Sunday, racing will also get underway at 2:00 pm with
features for Mini-Stocks, Thunder Cars, Canadian Vintage Modifieds,
Limited Late Models, Late Models and OSCAAR Super Late Models.

Flamboro Speedway
is a 1/3 mile paved oval located on Millgrove Road near Freelton.
Peterborough
Speedway ends its season with the annual Autumn Colours
Classic on October 8-9. Racing starts at 3:30 pm on Saturday
and features qualifying races for all classes plus a feature for
the Hurricane Midgets. Sunday begins at 1:30 pm and there will be
features for Mini-Stocks, Thunder Cars, Limited Late Models, Modifieds,
Late Models and OSCAAR Super Late Models.
Peterborough
Speedway is a 1/3 mile paved oval located on Sherbrooke Street,
just west of Peterbrough.
