This is how
Onslow Speedway looked in April, 2005 and April, 2006 when Gordon
Wilson visited it.
Onslow was originally a dirt track when it opened in 1965. It didn't
operate for the 1979 season. When it reopened in 1980, it had been
paved. Athough it closed in 1991, it was still used on and off for
private events.
As you can see from the photos, the track surface is in excellent
shape. The grandstands are gone but the starter's stand, walls and
fences remain. There were rumours in 2004 and 2005 that it might
re-open. Those rumours have been quiet lately.
