This is how
Seabreeze Raceway looked in the summer of 2005 when Kirk Alexander
and Nick Blackburn made separate visits to it. Both Nick and Kirk
sent photos to CanadianRacer.com within a few days of each other.
The track was built during 1965 by Don Alexander (Kirk's father)
and a group of local volunteers. It opened for racing in 1966 as
a dirt track. The track was paved for the 1970 season and it closed
at the end of the 1971 season.
The pits appear to have been located behind the back straight. As
can be seen from the photos, the area is very overgrown. There's
not much sign of any of the track infrastructure remaining but there
is quite a bit of debris - wood, steel, tires, body parts and even
an old race car.
If anyone has any more information on Seabreeze Raceway - photos,
programs, points champions, etc please contact me webmaster@motorsportscentral.com.
