Notes:
  • Property was originally a left-over WWII airfield, owned since 1948 by Bruce Mehlenbacher Sr
  • In 1954 several car clubs asked Mehlenbachers permission to use the airfield for drag racing
  • The clubs created the Ontario Timing Association to run the races
  • The track was run by the Ontario Timing Association until 1963
  • Larry Rook and Don Douglas were the leaseholders until 1963 when Jerry Hamond joined the partnership
  • The track was set up using all 3 sides of the air strip triangle - one side for the races, one for the return road and one for the pits
  • In 1960 the drag strip was moved to its present location
  • George Foote ran the track from 1968-70
  • In 1971 Bruce Mehlenbacher decided to run the track himself
  • Sold to John Fletcher, Bill Vanni and Vince Vanni in late 1983
  • Fletcher bought out his partners in 1984
  • Bought by a group of investors in May, 1990
