This is how
Windsor Dragway looked in the summer of 2004 when Barry Dunbar visited
it. Windsor Dragway is located on Manning Road, 1 mile north of
Highway 401 at Interchange 3 in Windsor.
Windsor Dragway opened on August 25, 1968 and closed at the end
of the 1971 season (need confirmation of the closing date). A crowd
of 4,000 was on hand for that opening day in 1968.
It appears that
no effort was made to clean the site up. Much of the infrastructure
still remains - the concession stand, washrooms, the now collapsed
scoring tower, guard rails, etc.
If anyone has any more information on Windsor Dragway - photos,
programs, years in use, etc please ontact me webmaster@motorsportscentral.com.

reader submitted the following photos. They are taken
from a Super 8 film that was shot in July, 1969. The jacket
was purchased in 1970. |
