This is how Wasaga Beach Speedway looked in August, 2003 and October 2020. The 2003 photos have been on this page since the early days of the site and thought it was time to update them. The photos below are labeled by year, so comparisons can be made. Oddly, the track looks in better shape in 2020 than it did in 2003. Someone must be maintaining it by pulling the weeds growing through the track. You can also see the growth of the trees since 2003.
The Speedway was built on the inside of the earlier 1/2 mile Wasaga Beach Race Track (for horses). The old horse track is still there. It's not easy to notice from the ground, but is quite clear in the aerial shots on the History tab of this track database entry.
The remains of Wasaga Beach Speedway are located in a Provincial Park and are accessible to anyone. Look for the orange gate on the left side of Oxbow Park Road. Park your car on the side of the road and walk down the sandy lane. The track is only about 100 metres or so down the path.
The pits were outside of the track, off corner 3-4 and the drivers entered the track from turn 4. There were grandstands along the front straight of the horse track but these are long gone. They can be seen on the Photos tab of this track database entry.
