Built by a group of drivers who were dissatisfied with Speedway Park

Located Hwy 16 west - Winterburn overpass, 1 mile north

Operated by the Edmonton Area Racing Association
Designed by Terry Cunningham
Eric and Phil Dowler did much of the excavation for the original construction
Ray Wild was the first General Manager
Raced Wednesday nights in the early years
Opened July 16, 1968
Some sources indicate the track was originally dirt but I am unable to find any proof - appears to have been paved from day one
The 1970 rules stated that cars between 1955 and 1970 as Super Stock and Early Lates were for 1953-1960
Early Lates were 6 cylinder
Final event was October 16, 1977
Track closed due to a combination of factors - dropping car counts, fewer spectators, an increase in rent for the property and an industrial park built next to it
When the track closed the EARA moved to now re-opened Speedway Park then called Cobra Raceway
