- Owned by Charlie Greenley who had built the original Speedway Park in Ontario
- Construction work was done by Percy, Reg and Russell Booth
- The original plan was to use on the unused Chinook Jockey Club horse track on Macleod Trail but local zoning and opposition from residents put an end to it
- Greenley found a location slightly farther south for the track
- Track was opened on Sept 1, 1952
- Sold to Norman Becker in Feb 1955
- Reg Booth stayed on as track manager
- Ran Friday night in 1955
- Ran Wednesday night in 1956
- A rule change in August 1956 allowed engine modifications - previously, the engines were stock
- The drivers were members of the Calgary Auto Racing Club beginning in 1956
- Ran Thursday night in 1957
- Pat Meehan became the promoter in 1957, replacing Reg Booth
- Car counts dropped after the rule changes that allowed modified cars to compete
